This workshop is designed specifically for (1) team members developing systems ready for system certification and (2) process owners redesigning processes to drive continual improvement.  Through the practical experience learned from many years and projects, the techniques in this class combine:

  • Documentation requirements for “ISO Systems”
  • Value-stream mapping and lean management principles
  • Process analysis necessary for applying the six sigma methodology (Y = f(X1…Xn))

Most business processes (whether service based, manufacturing, selling, invoicing, designing, procuring, training or other!) are driven by only a few critical inputs, controls and resources necessary to fulfill the process objectives.  The challenge is sorting the noise from the essential. This workshop teaches students how to analyze business processes so the output is something usable by others in the organization long after the original analysis is complete.

The two key questions to ask:

  1. Is your management system documentation used by the organization to make strategic decisions and drive continual improvement?
  2. Does your organization really understand the critical inputs, controls and resources necessary to ensure success?

Who should attend?

  • Process Owners and Functional Managers
  • Improvement Specialists
  • IT Managers and Specialists responsible for system implementation or improvement
  • ISO project managers and ISO Representatives
  • Team members responsible for “writing manuals, procedures or work instructions”

You will learn how to:

  • Analyze a process
  • Document a management system ready for first time “ISO certification”
  • Drive improvement using process analysis
  • Define the interactivity of processes and why it is essential to system success
  • Facilitate process analysis for your team

Professional analysts today have many available tools, particularly advanced data collection techniques, statistical analysis software simplifying previously complex analysis and user-friendly databases shared across facilities, states and continents.  However, these tools are still only as good as the data and information we put into them.  Business process analysis remains the most important first step required when developing or continually improving an management system.

Duration:  2 days

Schedule and In-house Pricing:  This class is currently offered in-house.
