QMII’s training is based on real life situations, with workshops designed to offer practical experience and preparation for maritime security duties. QMII students learn the knowledge and skills required for fulfilling the roles of Ship Security Officer (SSO), Company Security Officer (CSO) and Marine Facility Security Officer (MFSO).

The ISPS Code requires establishment of ship and port facility security plans. The Code places responsibility for this squarely on the companies charged with the ship's management and on the Contracting Governments where the port facilities are located. We offer ISPS training with various options to meet our clients’ needs.

This three-day course for Ship, Company and Marine Facility Security Officers meets the requirements of:

  • MTSA*
  • MTSR*
  • STCW Code Chapter VI, Section A-VI/5 and Table A-VI/5
  • ISPS Code Clauses 13.1 & 13.2 of Part A and Clauses 13.1, 13.2 & 18.1 of Parts A and B
  • Course requirements for SSO per TC

*as amended from time to time

For those who want to pursue certification as an RABQSA or IRCA Lead Auditor with ISPS as emphasis, we offer ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

We also offer custom-tailored in-house lead and internal auditor courses including RABQSA certified Quality Management System Lead Auditor with ISM or ISPS maritime focus. An intensive 3-day ISPS Code course is recommended for maritime security officers (SSOs, CSOs, PFSOs), mariners, auditors and other interested parties involved in maritime security. QMII also offers ISPS Code training in conjunction with ISO 28000 (Supply Chain Security Management Systems).
