This workshop prepares teams to perform measurement system analysis (MSA) to determine the adequacy of measurement systems for providing the data necessary for the organization to control products and processes.  MSA is a necessary methodology for distinguishing between variation within a business process and variation within the measurement system used to collect data from the business process.

While statistically based, this class teaches the techniques, methods and procedures used by process managers and users to perform MSA.  An understanding of basic statistics is recommended but not required.

This course is particularly suited for managers that want to apply MSA and meet the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 and/or ISO 14001.

Who should attend?

  • Process Owners
  • Functional Managers
  • Process Engineers
  • Improvement Specialists
  • Quality Analysts

What you will learn:

  • Purpose of MSA
  • MSA requirements from system standards
  • Standards and traceability
  • Statistical properties of measurement systems
  • Basis and effects of measurement system variation
  • Performing measurement system analysis
  • Recommended practices for simple measurement systems
  • Practices for complex measurement systems

Learn with short lectures, teamwork and hands-on workshops to deepen your understanding of processes and process improvement.  This workshop-based course allows you to apply the techniques while you learn to best understand the potential benefits (and pitfalls) of using MSA.
