Many organizations develop management systems with the intent of certifying the system to one standard (i.e. ISO 9001, QS9000, or ISO 14001).  However, time progresses and either the market demands additional certifications or the organization sees the importance of not ignoring other national and international standards.

Meeting the requirements of a second (or third or fourth, etc.) standard is not always easy, particularly if the company did not use the Process Approach as described by this website.

Your company has one management system. Avoid developing multiple, concurrent and potentially conflicting systems.  Understanding your business processes in the context of a system and relating the system to any system standard will enable you to avoid this pitfall.

While our class can be (and often is) customized for any transition project, here are common examples of transition classes we provide:

  • ISO 9001 to ISO 14001
  • ISO 9001 to ISO/TS 16949, ISO 13485, AS9100 and AS9110 and ISO 17799/ISO 27001
  • QS9000 to ISO/TS 16949
  • ISO 14001 to OHSAS 18002 or ANSI Z10
  • ISO 9001 to include ISM Code for maritime safety
  • HACCP to ISO 22000 for food safety

The additional requirements are the easy part. Understanding how to avoid waste, minimize the impact upon the organization and develop a system valued by the organization is the challenge. We welcome the challenge and always work with your existing system and only remove what is not valued or used by the organization.
